Status Quo released the song as the title track for their 1977 album Rockin’ All Over the World. In July 1985 Status Quo opened Live Aid at Wembley Stadium with “Rockin’ All Over the World”.

The song was originally written by John Forgerty from Creedance Clearwater Revival. This was also the open song for Live Aid and set the standard for the remainder of the event.
It has been adopted by football fans all over the world and is always played at English international games. Bayer Leverkusen play the track through the PA whenever they score a goal, and my old home town team Bolton Wanderers play the song if they win a home game.
The song only ever reached number 1 in Ireland.
